The Lawyer Referral Service (LRS) is here to provide business development opportunities while giving people direction for legal representation.

• As a membership benefit, LRS allows IBA members only an easy and affordable marketing tool for revenue building. Whether you belong to a large or small firm or work as a sole practitioner, LRS can help you increase your caseload as it matches callers needing legal assistance with the right attorney-like you!

• LRS pre-screens over 50,000 callers each year, and over 16,000 referrals are given annually.

• Cases range from several million dollars to a few thousand.

• LRS callers are matched with attorneys based upon their specific legal need. Panelists can select from up to five of the nine major areas of the law listed in the LRS contract.

• Referrals are made to LRS panel members on a rotating basis.

• Clients are predominantly from the metropolitan area, but there is statewide and national exposure thanks to the cooperative network of other bar associations. Fees shall be by agreement between the referred person and LRS member.

• A 10% fee is due to the IBA for cases referred by LRS resulting in attorney fees over $100. Panelists are required to complete and return monthly case status reports pertaining to all on-going LRS cases.

• All IBA attorney members in good standing with the Indiana Supreme Court holding $1,000,000 of professional liabililty insurance are eligible for LRS panel enrollment.
